Northlight Glass · Metro Vancouver
Privacy policy
Last updated 24 August 2026
Northlight Glass is a glass repair and replacement company in Metro Vancouver. When you ask for a quote, call about broken glass, or send a photo of a window, we handle personal information. This page says what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and how to ask us to change or delete it.
Who we are
Northlight Glass (“we”, “us”) provides residential, commercial, and strata glass repair across Metro Vancouver — sealed units, broken glass, shower glass, storefronts, and 24/7 emergency board-up.
For privacy questions, write to contact@northlightglass.com or 1030 Quebec St #303, Vancouver, BC V6A 4H2, Canada. We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA). If personal information is processed outside B.C. — for example by an email or hosting provider — federal PIPEDA can also apply to that transfer.
What we collect
We collect only what we need to quote, schedule, and do the work:
- Name, phone, email, and the property address or unit
- Property type (house, condo, strata, commercial) and a description of the glass job
- Photos and measurements you send for a quote
- Call recordings or notes if you phone the shop or the emergency line
- For strata: building name, unit numbers, council or manager contacts, and access instructions
- Payment and invoice details when a job is booked
We do not buy mailing lists. We do not collect personal information from children. This site is for property owners, tenants with permission, businesses, and strata managers.
Photos of your property
A photo is usually enough to price foggy sealed units, broken panes, showers, and storefronts. Uploaded or texted photos may show your house, a balcony, a storefront, interiors, or people in the background. We use those files to quote and to do the job — not as advertising.
Send only what the glass needs. You can crop out faces, licence plates, and documents before you upload. We still treat every quote photo as personal information tied to your enquiry.
How we use it
- To price the work and send a written quote
- To book, access the site, and install or board up glass
- To invoice, run warranty or callback work, and keep a job record
- For strata: unit-by-unit schedules, resident notice, and completion photos for council
- To answer the phone, including 24/7 emergency board-up
- To meet legal, insurance, and WorkSafeBC record-keeping where the job requires it
Email, SMS, and CASL
Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) covers commercial electronic messages. On our quote and contact forms, the box that says you agree to be contacted is unchecked until you tick it. We do not add you to a marketing list because you asked for a price.
If you send a quote request, we will reply about that job — that is the enquiry you started. Marketing messages (newsletters, promotions) only go out if you opt in. You can withdraw consent any time at contact@northlightglass.com or by replying stop to an SMS.
Website gallery
Using a photo of finished work on this website is a separate yes. The quote form has its own checkbox: “You may use photos of the finished work on your website.” If that box stays empty, we do not publish the job. Quote photos of a broken or foggy window are never used as gallery shots unless you later agree in writing.
How long we keep it
Quote files stay with the enquiry until we price it, you decline, or the job is done. Job records — including photos, measurements, and invoices — stay as long as we need them for the work, a warranty callback, insurance, or a legal claim, then we delete or archive them.
If you asked us not to contact you again, we keep a minimal suppression record so we can honour that. We do not keep quote photos “just in case” after the purpose is finished.
This website
This site uses cookies or similar storage only as needed to run the pages (for example, to send a form). We do not run advertising pixels or sell browsing data. The server that hosts the site may log IP address, browser, and the pages requested — standard hosting logs, kept for security and uptime, not for profiling.
Forms on this site are for quotes and contact. They post to FormSubmit, which emails the message to us. Do not put payment card numbers in the message field. We take card details by the method we confirm when we invoice.
Your rights
Under PIPA you can ask us to:
- Give you access to the personal information we hold about you
- Correct information that is wrong
- Withdraw consent for uses that are not required to finish a job you already asked for
- Delete quote photos or a marketing opt-in, where the law allows
We may need to confirm it is you before we release a file. We may refuse a request that the law says we can or must refuse (for example, information that is also about someone else). If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia. For matters that fall under PIPEDA, you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
