Northlight Glass · Metro Vancouver
Terms of use
Last updated 24 August 2026
These terms cover this website and the glass work we quote and install in Metro Vancouver. Using the site, sending a photo for a price, or booking a job means you agree to them. For how we handle personal information, see the privacy policy.
The agreement
Northlight Glass (“we”, “us”) is a glass repair and replacement company serving homes, businesses, and strata buildings across Metro Vancouver. You (“you”) are the person or organization asking for a quote or booking work — an owner, tenant with authority, property manager, or strata council.
If you send a request for someone else’s property, you confirm you have the right to do that. Strata work is booked with the council or manager of record unless we agree otherwise in writing.
This website
The site is for information and enquiries: service pages, photo quotes, emergency contact, and our work. Content is general guidance for Metro Vancouver. It is not a building-code opinion, an engineer’s drawing, or a promise that a specific opening takes a specific glass until we measure it.
We may change pages or published hours without notice. A page on this site is not a quote until we send one in writing.
Do not misuse the site: no scraping at a volume that harms the host, no uploading malware, no using forms to send spam. We may block access that looks abusive. Stand-in photographs are labelled as such and are not photos of your job.
Quotes
Most sealed-unit, shower, and storefront jobs can be priced from a photograph and two measurements. A photo quote is an estimate based on what you sent. It is not a contract until we confirm scope, glass spec, and a price in writing and you accept.
- Send a quote through the form, email, or text. No obligation.
- If the opening, glass type, or access is different on site, the price can change. We tell you before we cut glass.
- Lead times are estimates. Fabrication depends on the unit, coatings, and the plant.
- A quote does not reserve a fabrication slot until we say it does.
Emergency board-up may be quoted and done the same visit. Replacement glass follows when it is made. Asking for a price is not an instruction to start work unless you say so.
The work
We replace glass: sealed units, lites, shower panels, mirrors, guards, storefronts, and related hardware. We do not replace a sound window or door frame unless that is the written job. Existing frames, sills, and flashings stay unless we agree they are part of the scope.
Glass type has to match the opening and the code: tempered or laminated where required, laminated overhead, safety glazing in guards. We will not install annealed glass where it is not allowed. Frameless structural guards need engineer-sealed drawings — we do not guess a thickness from a photo.
Hidden damage — rotten sashes, failed setting blocks, seized hardware we could not see in the photo — is extra work if it has to be fixed for the glass to sit. We stop and quote that before we proceed.
Emergency board-up
24/7 board-up is to secure an opening: weather, safety, and access. Plywood or temporary glazing is not the finished lite. You (or your insurer) are responsible for the opening until we return with the glass. We can take insurance photos if you ask. Board-up does not include full window replacement unless that is a separate written job.
Access and the site
You provide safe access: parking, keys or buzzer, elevator bookings, pets secured, and resident notice in a strata building. Lift, swing stage, or rope access is used when the elevation needs it. Industrial rope access in B.C. is IRATA or SPRAT work under WorkSafeBC Part 34.
You confirm the property can take the work — owner approval, strata permission, and any building access rules. Delay caused by locked units, missing parking, or a cancelled elevator is not our fabrication delay.
Photos and this site
Photos you send for a quote are for pricing and the job. We do not publish them as our work unless you tick the gallery box on the quote form, or agree later in writing. See the privacy policy for how long we keep files.
Text, layout, and our own job photos on this site belong to Northlight Glass or our licensors. You may not copy them to run a competing service page. Unsplash and similar stand-in images remain under their licences.
Payment
Payment terms are on the written quote or invoice. Deposits may be required before we order custom glass. We do not take card numbers in the website message field. Unpaid invoices may pause remaining work. Title to fabricated glass stays with us until it is paid for, where the law allows.
Warranty
Workmanship and the glass unit are warranted as set out on your invoice or in a written warranty we give you for that job. Manufacturer seals and coatings follow the maker’s terms. Warranty does not cover impact, attempted cleaning of a failed IGU cavity, movement of a rotten frame we did not replace, or glass we did not install.
Until a specific warranty period is printed on your paperwork, treat website copy as general. We confirm the terms when we book.
Limits
Glass is a product. It can break in service, on a later impact, or from a condition we did not cause. We are not liable for lost business during a wait for fabricated glass, for contents damaged by weather before we arrive, or for advice you take from this website without a site visit — except where B.C. law does not let us limit that.
Where we can limit liability, it is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded for consumers under B.C. law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Courts in British Columbia have exclusive jurisdiction, except that we may seek an injunction anywhere to protect our name or content.
If a clause cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. We may update these terms. The date at the top is the current version. Continued use of the site after a change is acceptance of the new version. Booked work stays on the terms you accepted when you booked, unless we both agree otherwise.
